hmmm...

if you drew those characters then i'll take my hat off to you... my hat is glued on most of the time, though, so that i don't get my hopes up.

Add a frame at the end and click on "Actions" and write the word
Stop();
that will kill your loop problem. But you should really be asking that sort of stuff in the Forums, not in your submission text.

This needed a story line... action... excitement... something.

ChadSR responds:

I did draw them, I like to draw frame by frame animation. Why would I use work that is not mine? It would obliterate my whole motive of finding sound that is legal to use.

I wasn't asking for help in my NG submission, just stating that I still had not learned how to stop looping.

you rock

It great to watch a flash animation that has obviously had a lot of time, effort and love put into it. This had me laffin a lot. The fact you made it all pretty much exclusively is a tribute to your talent and patience.

Cheers :)

haha... good!

i like your drawing style... and if you keep working on it and looking at tutorials etc you will find solutions to the "walking problem" and anything else that comes your way.

there is free music on the Audio Portal and you can get other people to voice over your animations if you really want (and really can't get hold of a mic). Check the Audio Portal and the Audio section of the Forums.

it's ok...

but firstly... the sound crackled a bit... you made the sound too loud resulting in digital distortion which is nasty on the ears.

it's alright... but I think you can still do better. You haven't changed much from the original version and I think the animation could still go up another notch. Not that I can talk... I suck at animation!

haha...

that's two "ha's"... I liked it!

The title kind of gave away the punchline but I think that was ok in this case. Animation was reasonable... heaps better than I can do anyway!

The "WTF boom" was frikkin hilarious. Good job.

QubanSigar responds:

Thanks for the review.

I looked at your stuff and it wasn't that bad. just keep animating. have patience.

WHAT THE F-- BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!! lawl

some good art and animation, but....

what was the point of it? the music stopped and the animation kept looping... was I meant to keep waiting?

clever...

Compared to what usually happens in your average movie on NG the punchline to this was quite surprising...

no flash loader... be more prepared next time!

i don't know how the others didn't pick this up... maybe I'm the first to be watching this on dial-up...
before you post any more of your work, check out the following link:

you didn't add a flash loader at the start which means, for people in my situation, we get a choppy, bit-by-bit story. The second time around it worked ok though.

I'm not trying to be harsh but this is a fairly crucial, non-negotiable element of any animation on this site.

DavidBurgess responds:

I did. I added it it in. You know what happened? It screwed the whole thing up. I had to close without saving and re-export my SWF. Apparently, that preloader is written in Actionscript 2.0, and this was made in 3.0. Seeing as how I'm simply posting up something I made long before considering putting it into here, and I have no idea whatsoever how to save to a 2.0 format short of copy/pasting each frame, I had to do without. Sorry.

good 1st try...

You've certainly got the basic skills... now it just comes down to practise making perfect. It's encouraging that you can recognise this isn't perfect... that means the next movie you make will most likely be better.

This movie was too slow for me... although I suppose zombies aren't exactly leaping with vitality. If you were going for the whole "slow mo' effect" then you could've included a vocal overdub slowed right down too... Eeeeaat leeeaad zommmmbieeeee... BANG!

Close up the zombie looked a bit too much like a bunch of circles. Investigate how to make shapes less geometrical. The teeth should've been rotten and the zombie, mangled and scruffy. These things can be incorporated into your existing animation so it doesn't mean starting from scratch...

Foiz5000 responds:

like i said ive never animated a charactor before.

polish this and it will shine...

Yeah, being made to read LOTF at school sucked but it is actually not such a bad read. You've made a humourous interpretation of the book and it came off pretty well.

Some of the humour elements were great and the animations ok but the voice overs got bad near the end. My speakers were peaking out with spike after spike of over-loud volume bursts... you need to watch that as it nearly wrecks the whole movie.

I'm guessing your microphone is on the cheap side but you should still be able to avoid those sharp crackles.... lower the recording volume and consider putting a stocking stretched over a coathanger in front of your mic to try and minimise those peaks.

Wurmy responds:

The mic itself is.. yeah it is pretty cheap but it got the job done (which was originally to get a decent grade). Glad you liked it anyways :) At least some :p

Music is the new religion. Amen.
